Anime Review : Watch ORGUSS

ORGUSS is an old Japanese animated TV series created in 1983. It was the first series to use mecha as the main type of action. It is well-known for its innovative, twisting story and its extended universe.

Plot Summary

ORGUSS takes place in the year 2062, during a period known as the Age of Creation. A powerful energy field called the “System” emerged and changed the face of the world. Technology advanced quickly, and new species were born. The System gave many humans superhuman powers and abilities, and allowed for the creation of powerful machines known as Orguss. With these machines, humanity achieved the ability to access and use the power of the System.

This brought about an era of peace and prosperity for the world, but it was short-lived. A new world order emerged, in which a tyrannical government known as the ā€œGaia Allianceā€ sought to control the power of the System. In opposition to the Gaia Alliance, a group of rebels called the “Super Dimension Squadron Orguss” was formed to battle against the oppressive government and protect the freedom of the world.

Characters

The main protagonist of ORGUSS is Kei Katsuragi. He is a teenage rebel who is determined to protect the freedom of the world from the oppressive Gaia Alliance. Along with Kei, the series is also populated by a variety of other interesting characters. These characters include:

  • Mylene Jenius: A member of the Super Dimension Squadron Orguss and Kei’s love interest.
  • Chum: an alien creature from another dimension.
  • Atros: An Orguss pilot and loyal friend to Kei.
  • Shaya Laan: A mysterious being with the power to alter time and space.
  • EX-1: A powerful artificial intelligence created by the Gaia Alliance.
